What is a Homeopathic Remedy and is it right for me?

A Homeopathic remedy must be suitable both for the symptoms, characteristics and temperament of the patient. Hence two patients with the same illness may be offered different remedies suited to their individual natures. Likewise, one remedy may be used to treat different groups of symptoms or ailments. Homeopathic remedies are based on the concept that "like cures like", an ancient philosophy that was revived in the 19th century. They are derived from plant, animal or mineral sources.

What medicines are used in Homeopathic treatments?

Substances used are first soaked in alcohol to extract their essential ingredients and to produce a solution called the 'Mother Tincture'. This is then diluted several times with the more dilute remedies being held to have greater potency.

The remedies are made into tablets or they may be used in the form of ointment, solutions powders, suppositories etc.
